A one-button raindrop story with more feeling than forecast

raindrop. turns a tiny weather event into a very short piece of interactive fiction. The premise is almost a complete sentence by itself—you are the drop—while pixel art, a one-button input, and a few minutes of narrative carry the emotional weight.

What is raindrop.?

The itch.io page files raindrop. under interactive fiction, puzzle, and visual novel, but its interface is deliberately narrow: keyboard input, one-button accessibility, subtitles, and an Enter shortcut for skipping text. Made with Godot and Aseprite, it presents its miniature protagonist through a short, atmospheric pixel-art frame. Reader responses dwell on emotion, tears, and the way one small drop can matter; Lucas Gomila replies that communicating those sorts of messages is central to his games. This is less a meteorology lesson than a pocket-sized fable with rain on its mind.

What you can do there

  • Follow a short raindrop narrative with a single keyboard input

Why we picked it

A single-button narrative is a useful constraint, and raindrop. pairs it with a premise small enough to feel almost weightless. The project earns curiosity by asking how much story can fit inside one drop and only a few minutes.

How to get the most from it

Choose Run game, keep your keyboard nearby, and give the piece a quiet few minutes. The page identifies Enter as the text-skip control; because the remaining behavior is left to the experience, avoid racing through the opening lines.

Good to know

It is a free English-language HTML5 project with subtitles and a one-button accessibility label. The live audio, full control mapping, touch behavior, and motion intensity are undocumented. itch.io's current frame policy means the safest route is to open the destination directly.
