Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Site Stumble concerning sitestumble.com, its directory, Stumble browser, accounts, forms, and related features (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. The Service is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires parental consent for your use of online services, use Site Stumble only with that consent.
What Site Stumble provides
Site Stumble is an independent editorial directory and discovery tool. It describes and links to unusual, useful, playful, beautiful, or otherwise interesting third-party websites. The Stumble feature selects an eligible destination and may display it inside a framed browser view; the directory provides crawlable category and profile pages.
We may add, change, pause, limit, or discontinue any feature. We may also test different layouts, ranking methods, and recommendation logic. The Service does not promise a particular number, type, or sequence of destinations.
Accounts and account security
An account is optional. It lets you synchronize history and favorites. You agree to provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly tell us if you believe someone else accessed your account. You are responsible for activity through your account to the extent permitted by law.
You may sign in with email and password or an available third-party identity provider such as Google. Your use of that provider is also governed by its terms. We may suspend or disable an account when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect the Service, comply with law, or enforce these terms.
To request account deletion, use the privacy contact route. Deletion may not immediately remove records that must be kept for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backups.
Acceptable use
Use Site Stumble as a curious visitor, not as an attack surface. You may not:
- break the law, violate another person’s rights, or encourage illegal or harmful conduct through the Service;
- attempt unauthorized access, probe private systems, bypass access controls, or interfere with service availability;
- introduce malware, malicious URLs, deceptive redirects, credential traps, or code intended to compromise visitors or systems;
- abuse forms, reports, authentication, favorites, analytics, or recommendation controls;
- use automated traffic at a volume that degrades the Service, defeats reasonable rate limits, or ignores published crawler instructions;
- scrape personal information, impersonate another person, or misrepresent ownership of a listed site;
- copy or republish Site Stumble’s editorial writing or database as a competing directory without permission; or
- use the Service to train a commercial dataset or model from Site Stumble’s original editorial content without written permission.
Ordinary search indexing, personal bookmarks, short quotations with attribution, and links to public pages are welcome.
Suggestions, reports, and feedback
You may suggest a destination, report a listing, or send feedback. You represent that you have the right to submit the material and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit confidential information, personal data you lack authority to share, or content designed to harm reviewers.
You keep ownership of material you submit. You give Site Stumble a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, review, reproduce, edit, and use that material as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to create original directory coverage. This license does not give us ownership of the destination website itself.
Feedback about the product may be used without compensation or obligation. A suggestion does not guarantee review, publication, a response, or continued inclusion.
Editorial independence
Listings are selected and described using editorial judgment. We may verify, categorize, rewrite, relabel, pause, reject, or remove any entry at any time. We may exclude destinations that are unsafe, deceptive, duplicative, too similar to Site Stumble, dominated by low-value advertising, unavailable, unsuitable for the audience, or no longer distinctive.
Scores, categories, “new” labels, selection frequency, and other presentation signals are editorial tools, not objective certifications. Site owners have no right to a preferred description, category, ranking, frame eligibility, or placement. Verified factual corrections and reasonable removal requests are considered through our corrections and takedowns process.
Independent websites and framed browsing
Third-party destinations can change without notice and may become broken, unsafe, inaccurate, offensive, paid, or controlled by a different owner. They may set cookies, run analytics or advertising, ask you to create an account, or sell products. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your interaction with them.
Use normal judgment before downloading files, entering credentials, making purchases, granting permissions, or relying on information. Report a changed or unsafe destination and leave it immediately. A listing is not a guarantee of security, accuracy, legality, availability, compatibility, or fitness for your purpose.
Site Stumble ownership and copyright concerns
The Service’s original editorial descriptions, organization, visual design, software, branding, and other original materials are owned by Site Stumble or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. “Site Stumble,” its visual identity, and related marks may not be used to imply sponsorship or endorsement.
Destination names, trademarks, screenshots, and content belong to their respective owners. Reference to a third party is for identification and editorial commentary and does not imply affiliation.
If you believe a Site Stumble page infringes a protected work, follow the instructions on the corrections and takedowns page. A complete notice should identify the work, the disputed material and page URL, your contact information, your authority, and a good-faith basis for the request.
Advertising, affiliate links, and sponsored material
Site Stumble may support itself through advertising, including Google AdSense, and may later use affiliate links or sponsorships. Advertising can be selected or measured by third-party technology as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Payment does not buy an unlabeled editorial recommendation. Sponsored placements, paid relationships, and affiliate links will be disclosed clearly where they appear. Unless a page says otherwise, a directory listing is not sponsored and no listed site has paid for inclusion.
Availability and disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Site Stumble disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the Service or any destination will always be available, secure, accurate, complete, current, error-free, or suitable for you. Editorial descriptions are informational opinions, not professional, medical, legal, financial, safety, or purchasing advice. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limits of liability and responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Site Stumble and the people who operate it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity; or harm arising from a third-party destination, even if advised that such harm was possible.
Where liability cannot be excluded, aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Site Stumble in the twelve months before the claim or US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
You are responsible for your use of destination websites and for complying with laws that apply to you. If your misuse of the Service or violation of these terms causes a third-party claim, you agree to be responsible for resulting losses and reasonable costs to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Enforcement, changes, and contact
We may investigate suspected violations and restrict access, preserve relevant records, cooperate with lawful requests, or refer conduct to appropriate authorities. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without consent; Site Stumble may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, or sale of the Service.
We may update these terms as the Service changes. Material revisions will be identified by a new update date and, when appropriate, additional notice. Changes apply prospectively when posted unless law requires otherwise.
