About the detour

The internet is
still interesting.

You just need a door that does not lead back to the same feed.

Site Stumble is an independent directory and discovery tool for the strange, thoughtful, playful, and surprisingly useful web. It exists because search is good at answering questions, feeds are good at serving more of the same, and neither is especially good at a happy accident.

Two ways to wander

Press Stumble when you want to give up the steering wheel. Browse the directory when you have a particular kind of curiosity. Both paths lead through the same reviewed collection, and every public entry includes our own field notes rather than a copied description.

What belongs here

A Site Stumble find should do at least one thing unusually well. It might turn data into something beautiful, make a small interaction feel magical, teach an enormous idea through play, preserve a forgotten piece of the web, or solve one oddly specific problem. Famous sites are welcome only when there is a genuinely surprising page worth finding.

Who is behind it

Site Stumble is built and maintained as an independent web project. Recommendations are chosen for visitors, not purchased placements. If that ever changes for a specific link, it will be labeled plainly.
