Semantris

A word game that rewards the weirdly specific thought.

Semantris turns word association into a small, speedy experiment: type a clue, watch the word list react, and see whether your mental shortcut lands where you hoped.

What is Semantris?

Semantris starts with a familiar party-game impulse: someone says a word and your brain immediately tosses back another. Here, that instinct becomes the whole mechanism. You enter an association, the words in play reshuffle around it, and a good connection helps clear the board. The appeal is less about reciting trivia than about testing the strange routes your vocabulary takes. A practical clue might work, but an oddly precise reference, a synonym, or a longer phrase can send the round in a more interesting direction.

What you can do there

  • Enter associations
  • Clear words from play

Why we picked it

It takes an everyday bit of wordplay and gives it a playful feedback loop, making a short visit feel more like poking at a curious language toy than grinding through a quiz.

How to get the most from it

Open a round, read the words on screen, and type the association that feels most useful. Try straightforward clues first, then experiment with more specific or unexpected connections.
