I Don't Get It is a short walk through a procedurally generated museum where the artworks and their descriptions keep changing. You steer with WASD and the mouse, roam until the joke has properly marinated, then use the escape door when your inner critic needs fresh air.
What is I Don't Get It?
Built in seven days for both 7dfps 2021 and PROCJAM 2021, this tiny Unity experiment turns gallery fatigue into the actual engine of the experience. Rooms, artwork, and commentary continue to arrive as you wander, so the museum feels less like a curated institution and more like a machine with strong opinions and no closing time. The structure is deliberately slight: look, read, keep walking, and decide for yourself when the exhibition is over. That compact loop gives the satire room to land without stretching it into a full museum shift.
What you can do there
- Walk through generated gallery rooms
- Inspect generated artworks and their descriptions
- Leave through the escape door
Why we picked it
The clever bit is not merely that the pictures are generated. The whole gallery becomes a procedural punchline, including the urge to search for meaning and the suspiciously convenient door that lets you stop searching.
How to get the most from it
Use WASD to move and the mouse to look around. Pause at the artworks long enough to read their generated descriptions, then follow the museum onward. There is no need to conquer the collection; take the escape door when your visit feels complete.
Good to know
This is a browser-based Unity piece built around first-person movement and desktop-style controls. The live gallery, procedural range, audio, save behavior, mobile support, accessibility options, and a player-reported bug were not tested during review.
