DevLids is an archived gallery of sticker-covered laptops from the worlds of technology, design, and science. The project gathers a lot of small personal decisions—the conference freebie, the language logo, the in-joke—onto one extremely specific wall.

What is DevLids?

The back of a laptop can be a résumé, a travel diary, a tool box, or a visual argument about which editor is best. DevLids collected those surfaces and lets the personalities pile up. Its rows of contributor-named lids feel like a conference hallway paused in time: carefully spaced logos, chaotic overlaps, old stickers that clearly survived several machines. The collection is no longer being updated, which makes it read less like a feed and more like an internet shoebox worth opening now and then. The archive is small-scale in the nicest way: it preserves a form of technical self-expression that is usually gone as soon as a laptop is replaced.
