Cosmoroboros swaps Snake's score chase for compact logic rooms. You steer a cosmic serpent through blocks, portals, and size-changing problems, then finish by curling the route into a tail-eating loop. The post-jam build promises tougher pacing and more polish, though one late-level blockage remains an unverified player report.
What is Cosmoroboros?
The familiar snake still moves on a grid, but lunch has become the finish line. Each room asks you to shape a route that brings head and tail together without tangling the rest of the plan. Early stages reportedly teach the pieces in small bites; later ones mix blocks, portals, and changes to the snake's length into something closer to a tiny Sokoban cousin. The space-serpent story gives the logic a cheerful cosmic excuse: every completed loop supplies the universe with enough impossible energy to keep expanding. It is nonsense with good puzzle manners.
What you can do there
- Move a cosmic snake across tile-based levels
- Manipulate puzzle elements while changing the snake's route and length
- Loop around to eat the snake's own tail
Why we picked it
The ouroboros idea is more than a coat of paint here. It reverses the basic instinct of Snake, turning self-contact from failure into the goal, then builds grid puzzles around arranging that collision precisely. Jam players repeatedly highlighted the variety of mechanics, gradual introductions, art, and dynamic music. The expanded version also exists because the team kept working on pacing and quality-of-life details after the deadline dust settled.
How to get the most from it
Start with WASD or the arrow keys on a keyboard; on a touchscreen, swipe to move. Read the board before committing to a route, especially when blocks, portals, or changes in length appear. The aim is not endless growth but a clean loop back into your own tail, so plan the final approach as carefully as the first move.
Good to know
The browser build is free, in development, and listed as a few-minute session, with a downloadable Windows version also available. The page claims color-blind-friendly support, but live controls, accessibility, audio, saves, and performance were not verified here. One player says level 47 may be blocked; treat that as an unresolved report. Site Stumble cannot frame the page, so open it directly.
