What is Bart's Blackboard?

This is less a grand interactive artwork than a neatly labeled drawer of television ephemera. Pick a season and the site lays out Bart’s chalkboard lines with episode titles, season numbers, and an image when one is available. A tag cloud offers stranger routes through the collection—teacher jokes, presidential references, underwear, and the many grammatical forms of schoolroom denial. The narrow focus is the charm: a five-second opening-credit joke becomes a surprisingly revealing timeline of topical nods, callbacks, and juvenile mischief. Just keep the calendar in view. Although the About page describes an archive meant to keep growing, the visible collection ends with season 23 material posted in March 2012.
