Assembilator Playtest Build

Build a low-poly contraption, then let physics inspect the workmanship.

Assembilator is a small 3D construction sandbox where buildings and contraptions answer to simulated physics. The browser playtest mixes object placement, tools, creatures, and a willingness to let an ambitious structure become a very educational pile.

What is Assembilator Playtest Build?

The project is less a tidy building game than a toy box with gravity switched on. Its 2022 logs describe lockable objects, a placement hand, tools, bombs, lights, controllable animals, bait-following turtles, and coyotes that chase them. That is a wonderfully odd parts list for a physics sandbox, and it suggests the pleasure comes from combining systems rather than chasing a fixed objective. The creator openly labeled the playtest unpolished and later said development had paused, so treat this as a preserved experiment, not a finished construction suite.

What you can do there

  • Place objects in a physics world
  • Build structures and contraptions
  • Experiment with tools and simulated creatures

Why we picked it

A sandbox gets interesting when its parts can surprise one another. Here, building pieces share the room with simple creature behaviors and tools, giving the project more personality than a stack-the-blocks exercise. Sometimes the blueprint is simply: add turtle, then reconsider everything.

How to get the most from it

Choose Run game for the browser build and follow the in-game controls tutorial. A 2022 changelog says C locks objects in place and Ctrl sprints, though current behavior was not executed. Start with a small stable frame, learn the placement tools, then add moving parts or creatures once gravity has accepted your paperwork.

Good to know

The page marks this as an in-development Unity playtest for HTML5, Windows, and macOS, with keyboard and mouse input and a few-minute average session. Ray later said work was paused and might resume. Live controls, saving, sound, performance, touch support, accessibility behavior, and browser/download parity remain unverified; no screenshot was captured.

Who made it, and when?

Ray is the credited creator or organization. A documented update was recorded May 3, 2022.
