Taketh, Giveth turns survival and generosity into a compact arcade tug-of-war. Watch the predicted thruster, steer left or right, and choose whether each resource becomes fuel for your spacecraft or a gift that grows the nearby planet and raises your score.
What is Taketh, Giveth?
The controls occupy two keys, but the decision they serve is pleasantly thorny. Taking keeps the ship alive; giving feeds the little world beside it. Because each engine burst is reported to push in a random direction, the all-seeing eye's prediction matters more than ordinary point-and-steer reflexes. The game was built by National Film and Television School students in a two-day jam around the theme Integrity, then won the event and appeared in the WASD Curios showcase.
What you can do there
- Steer with the left and right keys toward take or give choices
- Take resources to stay alive or give them to grow the planet and score
Why we picked it
A score-chaser usually asks how much you can grab. This one makes greed both necessary and costly, squeezing its jam theme into the actual survival loop. The Ukie win is a nice laurel, but the take-or-give tension is the hook that earns the detour.
How to get the most from it
Watch the eye for the ship's next thruster symbol, then use the left and right arrow keys to aim for taketh or giveth. Early on, learn how the random bursts move; once the rhythm clicks, try to beat the page's posted score of 150.
Good to know
This is a browser-playable, keyboard-led jam game with only left and right listed as controls. Random thrust means steering is indirect. Touch, controller support, remapping, volume controls, and accessibility options are not documented on the listing.
