Redcoats.io is a free, large-scale multiplayer shooter set among flintlocks, cavalry charges, field cannons, and warships. Pick a role, join a side, and help your team take and hold the forts.
What is Redcoats.io?
Redcoats.io takes the musket-and-sail era and turns the volume all the way up. Instead of a small arena, it aims for broad multiplayer battles where infantry, cavalry, cannons, ships, and fort objectives are all tugging at the same front line. The four roles keep the chaos from being one note. A Musketeer fights on foot, a Cavalryman moves quickly over the field, a Cannoneer works heavy guns, and a Sailor joins the action from warships. The match objective is simple enough to grasp in the noise: take forts, defend them, and help your side control the battlefield. It is a deliberately kinetic game. When it works for your setup, it offers the rare browser-session feeling of stumbling into a huge historical costume drama that has somehow acquired artillery.
What you can do there
- choose a battlefield role
- fight with muskets and artillery
- ride or crew vehicles
- capture forts with a team
Why we picked it
The contrast is the hook: old-world weapons and naval imagery delivered as a modern, drop-in web shooter. The role system gives players a reason to look beyond the nearest skirmish and contribute to the larger fight.
How to get the most from it
Open the game in a modern browser with WebGL2 support, choose a side, and start with the role that sounds most familiar. Watch the fort objectives and map before charging forward; supporting an active push can matter more than wandering alone.
Good to know
This is a competitive first-person combat game with shooting and large, visually busy battles. It runs best on modern Chromium browsers and uses WebGL2; live performance, matchmaking, moderation, and accessibility support were not verified in this run.
