Goodbye! -Moon Men

Stack ten seconds of defenses until the Moon finally holds

Goodbye! -Moon Men turns one ten-second invasion into a steadily thickening defense plan. Pick three directional actions, watch the attack unfold, then rewind and add another layer while every earlier shield, missile, and laser keeps its appointment with the timeline.

What is Goodbye! -Moon Men?

The clever bit is that failure does not erase the plan; it adds another pass through it. Each invasion gives you three fresh orders, but the old ones remain scheduled, so a weak first loop can become the foundation for an increasingly elaborate lunar traffic jam of shields and weapons. Success means stopping every landing with the smallest stack of iterations you can manage. The build came from Mini Jam 130 and still shows that compressed scope: three defensive tools, a single ten-second crisis, and a high-concept rule that does most of the heavy lifting.

What you can do there

  • Choose three defenses and their directions for each loop
  • Layer shields, missiles, and lasers across repeated invasions
  • Stop every invader in as few iterations as possible

Why we picked it

Most tower-defense games ask you to improve a map. This one asks you to improve time. Watching past decisions turn into future infrastructure is a strong little systems joke, and the fixed ten-second window makes each new layer easy to compare with the one before it.

How to get the most from it

Choose three actions and aim each one during the command phases. Use shields to absorb pressure, missiles for targeted bursts, and the laser for a sweeping lane. When an invader lands, study where the plan opened a gap, rewind, and spend the next three orders reinforcing that exact moment.

Good to know

The browser build uses mouse input, while name-your-own-price downloads are listed for Windows, macOS, and Linux. This is a jam-sized design whose creators noted that extra enemies, waves, weapons, and a currency system were left out; jam feedback also suggests the first few loops can be confusing. Live audio, device support, saves, accessibility, and privacy behavior were not tested.
